No matter which kind of pod you are using, this occurrence is a commonly known issue with these particular machines, alongside descale function issues and excessive leaking. However, we have a few great tips up sleeve to try when it comes to resolving this one!

• Sometimes, fixing this issue is as simple as half opening and closing your machine! (See linked video below)

• You may have over-filled and/or over-tamped the capsule. Do not try to force the unit closed. Remove a small amount of coffee from the capsule, and try again tamping quite gently.

• The barcode on base of capsule may have worn down, and the machine no longer recognises it - it's time to replace your capsule base!

• The capsule may have become misshapen. Try bending your back into place, or replace the capsule.

• The My-Cap silicone cover may have a split or defect. Where multiple splits are present in the silicone, the machine may malfunction - it's time to replace your silicone cover.

• Your machine may need a descale.

• Coffee can get caught in/around the brewing chamber, causing the machine to malfunction - run a machine cleaning cycle / flush water through internal parts. To run a cleaning cycle, simple push the button 3 times in 2 seconds, then the light will flash orange, and the cleaning cycle will begin.
